Moss Algae Treatment Project

We were asked to clean and remove algae from Maricourt Catholic High School, in Maghull, Merseyside, United Kingdom.

Formerly Mater Misericordiae Grammar School, It is one of two secondary schools administered by the Sisters of Mercy in Merseyside.

Formerly home of Frank Hornby (15 May 1863 – 21 September 1936) who was an English inventor, businessman and politician and inventor . He also founded the British toy company Meccano Ltd in 1908.

The building it’s self being listed and the roof being made of clay rosemary tiles would not allow for ” harsh” cleaning methods.

We applied our moss and algae treatment .. initially the roof discoloured as the growths dyed off. After a winter we reviewed the clean .

The results were outstanding the roof looked “as new”. No harsh abrasive,no pressure washing,no access to the roof as it was sprayed from the eves.
