Render cleaning in the lake district

Render cleaning lake district abbeyfield house . Abbeyfield house was a particularly interesting project.

Abbeyfeild House was built in 1980 and consists of 10 flats. The external walls were covered in “cockleshell render” or Crushed Mix Shell Harling.

Harling is a Scottish term, known in the UK as Pebble or dry dashing, which includes stone chippings, pebbles, crushed and whole shells.

The render is particularly delicate so we use our “soft wash” system on it.

The whole building cleaned up well with only very light staining left which will fade with time.
